The Kannada Samaramba event, held on November 25, 2023, at St. Gasper School and St. Anthony's School, was a vibrant celebration of talent and culture, bringing together 110 students from both institutions. The event aimed to showcase the diverse talents of these students, fostering a sense of community and creativity. We began the day at 2:00pm in two different schools simultaneously with an introduction to the event, and students eagerly waiting to participate in various activities like 1. Nrityasangama(Group dance ) 2. Jnanayuddha( Quiz competition) 3. Katharachana( essay writing competition) 4. Haduva hosadomdu hanchike( singing competition) 5. Bhumika chitra kalpana( Map drawing) 6. Nadumatu namma matu( speech) 7.Pick and speak 8.Kannada movie famous dialogue The enthusiasm and active involvement of the students added to the vibrant atmosphere of the event.Students participated and involved in all the events and enjoyed a lot. As the competitions unfolded, participants not only showcased their skills but also thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The announcement of winners in each competition added and certificates were proudly presented to acknowledge their achievements. We concluded the day on a delightful note with snacks in the form of biscuits and juice were distributed among the participants, providing a moment of refreshment and camaraderie. A group picture captured the joyous and memorable moments of the event. At last the Kannada Samaramba event achieved its goal of providing a meaningful platform for students to express their cultural and artistic abilities, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment among the participants.

SESSION ON PREPARING FOR AZIM PREMJI UNIVERSITY PG ENTRANCE EXAM On November 18, a highly informative session took place from 3 to 4 PM, focusing on preparing for the Azim Premji University PG Entrance Exam. Mr. Gopal, a second-year MA student at Tata Institute of Social Science, Mumbai, with a specialization in Community Organization and Development Practice, led the session. Having graduated in Sociology from Pondicherry University, he is a dedicated social worker empowering First Generation Learners, with notable contributions to Tribal welfare in Chattisgarh and women's upliftment in Aditya Birla. The session, enriched by Mr. Gopal's engaging presentation, covered key aspects of four courses: Education, Development, Public Health, and Economics. The first part delved into crucial elements such as Comprehensive, Reasoning, and Awareness. In second part ,Mr. Gopal provided valuable insights through a video showcasing university life, discussions on current affairs, recommendations for English newspapers, YouTube, and review of past exam papers. The highlight was the shared experiences of seasoned individuals associated with Azim Premji University, offering students a comprehensive understanding of the exam and effective preparation strategies. Beyond exam-centric topics, Mr. Gopal generously shared information about available scholarships and provided insights for pursuing higher education. the class proved immensely beneficial for students gearing up for the Azim Premji University entrance exam. Mr. Gopal's adept explanations and comprehensive approach were commendable. The session concluded with gratitude to Mr. Gopal for his invaluable contribution, ensuring that members gained valuable insights into Azim Premji University examinations. The event concluded on a positive note, with attendees enjoying snacks.

Empowering Minds,one book at a time:Encouraging,Enabling,Uplifting Rotaract Club of Shishu Mandir is thrilled to announce that we have launched our first project for the Rota Year 2023-24 AAYUSH-2.1 On [08/07/2023], the Rotaracters of our club visited Kithiganur Government School as part of our project to distribute books and stationery to the children. Our main objective is to ensure that these students have access to the necessary resources for a quality education and promote a interest for learning. We the Rotaractors of Rotaract Club of Shishu Mandir have initiated to distribute books and stationery to the children in government schools for the second consecutive year under the project AAYUSH. We began our project by organising a few activities for the children. There were total of 250 students and each student got 6 sets of books and a set of stationaries item(pencil,pen,eraser,sharpner,scale). we handed out the books and stationery to each child. It was heartening to see their eyes light up with excitement and gratitude as they received these valuable learning materials. We ensured that every child received a book suitable for their age and grade level. The students were encouraged to explore the books and make the most of the knowledge within their pages. It was a joy to witness their enthusiasm and eagerness to dive into the world of reading. AAYUSH-2.1at Kithiganur Government School was a success. We are proud that we have made a positive impact on the lives of these students, and we look forward to continuing our efforts in empowering young minds through education AAYUSH-2.2 at Bhattrahalli Government School, We engaged 75 students with fun activities and distributed 4 sets of age-appropriate books and stationery items per student Our motive is to empower young minds through education

*Sharpen Your Vision For A Brighter Future*

The Rotaract Club of Shishu Mandir successfully hosted an eye camp in collaboration with Shishu Mandir and Shankar Eye Hospital. The camp was held on May 22, 2024, at the Shishu Mandir campus. This initiative aimed to provide free eye care services to those who lack access to regular facilities. The Rotaract Club of Shishu Mandir conducted surveys in several areas to identify the people most in need of the eye camp and to raise awareness about the event. The event was well-organized, with our volunteers guiding patients through the different stages of the process. A total of 293 individuals received comprehensive services, including screenings, consultations, and necessary treatments. By preventing vision loss and improving the quality of life for those in need, the eye camp strengthened bonds within the community. During the camp, the doctors identified 44 patients who required immediate treatment. Thirty-eight patients were taken to the hospital, where 32 underwent surgery. Six patients with major problems were scheduled for further treatment. After the initial screening, the patients were taken to the hospital. Conducting the surgeries involved three stages. On the first day which took place on 22nd may where 17 patients received treatment; on the second day which was on 23rd may where, 9 patients were treated; and on the third day, which was on 24 where 5 patients received care. On June 28, the hospital staff will provide glasses and lenses to the patients that underwent surgery everything will be done at the Shishu campus itself. All services were provided free of charge, including the surgeries and glasses. The staff and management of Shankar Eye Hospital played a major role in this camp. Many expressed heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to have their vision checked and receive corrective measures. We also express our sincere thanks to all the staff and supporters of Shankar Eye Hospital. The team extends special thanks to all the volunteers who were part of this noble activity.

Warm Hearts, Warm Homes

On 18th July, our club successfully completed a blanket distribution project targeting Anganwadi kids and below-poverty members in two locations: Naraynpura and Pai Layout near Tin Factory. This initiative was taken to provide blankets to needy people who are suffering from cold weather. These blankets were generously sponsored by Sai Garments. As we started our Rotary year with this impactful project, the blanket distribution event was marked significant and sponsors were Sai Garments. The involvement of the community and club members was commendable, ensuring the smooth execution of the project. We started this project in Naraynpura from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM. A speech was given by the coordinator of the Anganwadi kids, Mr. Patil (APS Senior Coordinator), and we distributed 49 blankets to each member present in Anganwadi, making it a remarkable event. Later, we moved on to Pai Layout. There we started around 3:45 PM to 5:00 PM with our coordinator Subramanium sir giving a speech. We then conducted a small activity for the kids, brightening their faces, and later distributed 61 blankets, making it another remarkable event. We have successfully distributed 110 blankets to Anganwadi kids and below-poverty people in two different places, making a positive impact on the community. We sincerely thank Sai Garments sponsors for the blankets, which allowed us to give back to community members around us, and our club members who actively participated and made this project successful. This blanket distribution project was a significant step towards supporting the underprivileged children in our community. The collaboration with Sai Garments and the active participation of our club members played a crucial role in the success of this initiative. We look forward to organizing more such projects in the future to make a positive impact on society.

🐕RADIUM ROVER🎗 On 8th September 2024, the Rotaract Club of Shishu Mandir, in collaboration with Keerthi, organized a significant community project dedicated to the welfare and safety of stray dogs. Keerthi, who has long been involved in feeding stray dogs and providing them with reflective safety belts to prevent accidents, led the initiative alongside more than 10 committed volunteers from the Rotaract Club. The project saw the volunteers tie protective belts around the necks of over 50 stray dogs, ensuring they were more visible to drivers, especially at night, reducing the likelihood of road accidents. In addition to the safety measures, the team also provided nutritious meals to the dogs, contributing to their overall well-being. The event highlighted not just the compassion for animals but also underscored the Rotaract Club's commitment to addressing important issues within the community, transcending human-centered causes. By improving the lives of these stray animals, the club and its volunteers played a crucial role in promoting animal welfare and safety in the local area. Furthermore, the project served as an opportunity to raise awareness among the volunteers and the wider community about the need for consistent efforts to protect and care for stray dogs. With plans to continue such efforts in the future, the Rotaract Club and Keerthi aim to expand their outreach, ensuring the safety and care of more stray animals while fostering a sense of responsibility and kindness within the community.

The Rotaract Club of Shishu Mandir hosted its 11th Installation Ceremony on 13th September, marking the beginning of a new year of service and fellowship. The event was a resounding success, thanks to the presence of distinguished chief guests. DRR Abhay Lohia, Rotaract District 3019, Mr. Pavan Akkaraju, President of the Parent Club, Shekhar Sir and his family, and supporting staff Subbu Sir, Raghu Sir, and Narsimha Sir graced the occasion. The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp, followed by the national anthem. The outgoing president delivered a farewell address, highlighting the club's achievements during the previous year. DRR Abhay Lohia inspired the members with his keynote address, emphasizing the importance of service, leadership, and teamwork. This event encouraged the members to strive for excellence and make a meaningful impact in the community.The new board was inducted, with the president and office bearers taking oath to serve the club with dedication and integrity. The club expressed heartfelt gratitude to the chief guests for their presence and support. Special recognition was given to DRR Abhay Lohia, Mr. Pavan Akkaraju Shekhar Sir and his family, and the supporting staff for their guidance, encouragement, and tireless efforts. The 11th Installation Ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter in the club's journey. Sparkle Deepas Sparkling Smiles

✨SPARKLING DEEPA SPARKLING SMILES ✨ On October 27, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Shishu Mandir conducted the "Sparkling Deepa, Sparkling Smiles" project at Garden City Jeevitha Orphanage. A team of 12 dedicated Rotaract volunteers spent a joyful day with 40 children from the orphanage, celebrating the spirit of Diwali. The event featured engaging activities, including a coloring competition and lamp painting, aimed at fostering creativity and teamwork. The theme centered around cherishing the light within and spreading hope. The volunteers and children alike had an unforgettable experience, filled with laughter and smiles. Through this initiative, the Rotaract Club of Shishu Mandir reaffirmed its commitment to spreading love, kindness, and warmth among those who need it most. The event's success was evident in the beaming smiles of the children, who thoroughly enjoyed the interactive sessions. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the competitions, further adding to the excitement. The Rotaract volunteers also spent quality time with the children, engaging in games and conversations. This heartwarming experience strengthened the bond between the Rotaract Club and Jeevitha Orphanage. The project's impact will be cherished by the children and volunteers alike for a long time.
