Beyond Boundaries Ep 1 - Phase 2
On October 28th, 2024, the Rotaract Club of Bangalore JP Nagar proudly introduced “Beyond Boundaries: Episode 1,” kicking off with an inspiring Professional Development session featuring Jeeya Jain, an esteemed Life Coach and Soft Skills Trainer. This session focused on the critical themes of Work-Life Balance and Mental Health, aiming to equip members with the tools necessary to navigate the pressures of modern life. Jeeya shared her expertise on stress management and the importance of setting personal and professional boundaries, especially relevant in today’s demanding work environments.
Throughout the session, Jeeya provided actionable strategies to help attendees manage stress, prioritize tasks, and maintain mental wellness while handling multiple roles and responsibilities. Participants were encouraged to actively engage, ask questions, and discuss personal challenges, which fostered an open and supportive environment. Real-life examples were shared, illustrating how simple changes in routine and mindset can significantly enhance productivity and well-being. This session not only equipped Rotaractors with practical tools to improve their work-life balance but also encouraged a broader conversation around mental health, fostering a sense of community and mutual support. Attendees left the session with valuable takeaways, feeling empowered to integrate self-care and balance into their daily lives, which further enriches their commitment to the Rotaract community.
The second part of “Beyond Boundaries: Episode 1” was an engaging Cultural Exchange, which brought together Rotaractors from various clubs across South Asia. Alongside the Rotaract Club of Bangalore JP Nagar, participants included the Rotaract Clubs of Athugalpura and Colombo Heritage from Sri Lanka, as well as the Rotaract Clubs of Nasik Youth Force and Acropolis Royals from India. This exchange was designed to celebrate cultural diversity and foster a spirit of global friendship within the Rotaract community, connecting individuals from different backgrounds through shared experiences and traditions.
Each club contributed to the vibrant exchange by showcasing unique aspects of their local culture. Members shared stories and visual presentations highlighting traditional festivals, iconic cuisines, and historical landmarks that hold special meaning within their communities. Rotaractors from Bangalore introduced the vibrant culture of Karnataka, discussing customs, regional delicacies, and popular festivities like Kannada Rajyotsava. The clubs from Sri Lanka presented their own rich cultural heritage, touching on the significance of festivals like Vesak and the intricate artistry of traditional attire. Meanwhile, the clubs from Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh offered a glimpse into the folk art, music, and regional festivities that are central to their regions’ identities.
This exchange was more than just presentations; it was a lively, interactive dialogue that allowed members to ask questions, share personal stories, and reflect on the beauty of cultural diversity. The atmosphere was warm and inclusive, with members finding common ground in their shared values and aspirations as Rotaractors. This event deepened cross-border friendships and fostered mutual respect and admiration for each club’s unique identity. The Cultural Exchange strengthened the bonds within the Rotaract community, creating lasting memories and setting the stage for more collaborative efforts in the future.
Both phases of “Beyond Boundaries: Episode 1” were highly successful, demonstrating the power of Rotaract to unite members across borders for both personal development and cultural understanding. These events collectively represent the spirit of Rotaract—breaking down barriers, sharing knowledge, and building a global network of friendships and support.
